Auraria Higher Education Campus (AHEC) Science Building Addition and Renovation Denver, Colorado
K+A provided geotechnical engineering consultation and environmental services during site excavations for the addition and demolition planning for the renovation of the existing Science Building.
K+A also provided environmental services to the contractor for construction and post-construction dewatering requirements.
Phase I consisted of construction of the 4-story, 181,000-square-foot addition, which was finished on schedule with the first floor turned over to the owner six weeks ahead of schedule.
Phase II involved renovating the original 143,000-square-foot science building, which remained open for classes during Phase I.
Construction materials testing services provided by K+A during construction consisted of observing and testing earth anchors, excavation and backfill, drilled piers, and structural reinforced concrete.
